Line Model Tutorial Overview

Tutorial pages of line model provide step-by-step instructions with recorded screens and dialogs to demonstrate how to run Line Model in MULTCORP 4.2.

Due to various factors such as outside environment and insulation types, environmental parameters including temperature, pressure, species concentration and flow pattern change along the pipeline. Line Corrosion Prediction Model is to investigate the change of those environmental parameters, and make further efforts to predict corrosion rates at different locations of the pipeline.

In addition, Line Condensation Prediction Model of Gas-Water flow is also demonstrated in the tutorial. Line Condensation Prediction Model calculates the evolution of the condensation rate along the pipeline, as well as the change in gas/liquid temperature, pressure drop, water flow rate. Comparing to Line Corrosion Prediction Model, Line Condensation Prediction Model run a fairly fast (processing time) simulation of the condensation behavior. User can select the high risk points (high condensation rate) and run more detailed and slow corrosion simulation to predict top-of-line corrosion rate.

All movies are created using Adobe CaptivateTM software. In order to efficiently use those pages users should follow these suggestions:

  • Use controls at the bottom of the tutorial frame to pause, move forward or backward in the tutorial.
  • If you have a copy of MULTICORP 4.2, follow tutorials with a MULTICORP session open and follow steps from the tutorials.

If your screen resolution is 1280x800 or less, you may use the following tips to maximize the size of the tutorials:

  • Temporarily disable any toolbars that may take up your browser space.
  • View tutorials in full-screen mode (Select View/Full Screen from menu, or press F11).
  • Reload the page after any of these actions.

In order to choose any tutorial, click the links from tutorial menu on the left. While viewing tutorials you can see these instructions by clicking the Line Model Tutorials link on the left menu.

Note: In order to view tutorials you should install Adobe Flash Player plug-in for your browser, which may happen automatically. If your browser provides wizard to install plug-in, follow the instructions. Otherwise you can install Adobe Flash Player from the Adobe website.
